The rising popularity of ETFs has spurred a dynamic growth in the emerging markets. Single country and alternative investment ETFs are creating questions such as: Are all ETFs equal? And how do we select the most appropriate ETFs?

Tolmas Wong, CFA, Director and Head of Private Client Services of CIMB Securities in Singapore will examine the current arguments in index weighting methodology (fundamentals & volatility), the risks in synthetic fund structures, liquidity efficiency, and the addition of an ‘active twist’ to a traditionally passive fund vehicle. He will also explore the possibility of regional exchange standards, against the trend of cross-listing in multiple markets.
